Obituary for Marjorie A. Thompson (Sidway)
Marjorie “Marge” A. (Sidway) Thompson, 83, of Enfield, entered into eternal life, on Sunday Oct. 15, 2017 at Parkway Pavilion Healthcare, Enfield, CT. Marjorie was born on June 15, 1934 in Pittsfield, MA to the late Clarence “Bill” S. and Mary A. (Fellows) Sidway and was a life-long resident of Enfield. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. Marge was a longtime member of St. Patrick Church, Enfield and belonged to the Prayer group (Share the Word) along with Peg Linn, Sandy Moschetti and Alice Riley. She was also an active member of the Mark Twain Community.
Marge is survived by her three children; Donald M. Thompson & wife Diann of Livingston, TX, Pat A. Thompson-Schmitt & husband Neale Schmitt of Burlington, VT and Christine A. Thompson-Major & husband Roger of Enfield, her seven beloved grandchildren and six cherished great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and her closest friends; Karen Whalen, John & Helen Ryan, Ed & Laura Danek and Brenda Hellar all of Enfield. Besides her parents Marge was predeceased by her four brothers; William & Eileen Sidway, John & Rosemond Sidway, Robert & Virginia Sidway and James Sidway.
Marge’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday October 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 20, 2017 at 10:00 in St. Patrick Church, Enfield (Please meet at church), followed by burial in St. Patrick King St. Cemetery, Enfield, Memorial donations in Marge’s memory may be made to St. Patrick Church 64 Pearl St. Enfield, CT 06082.
