Obituary for Walter Anthony Wojtach

Walter Anthony Wojtach
Walter A. Wojtach, 95, of Somers, entered into eternal life on Saturday Oct. 21, 2017 in the comfort of his home with his loving family at his side. He was the beloved husband of Matilda (Buczkowski) Wojtach. Walter was born on Dec. 21, 1921 in Rockville, CT to the late Anthony and Sophie (Wojcik) Wojtach and resided in Somers for many years. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Army during WW II. Walt owned and operated Walt’s Cleaners, Suffield, CT for 40 years. In his leisure time he loved golfing, was a member of Grassmere C.C., in Enfield, and St. Adalbert Church.
In addition to his wife Matilda of 69 years, he is also survived by his loving daughter Linda Wojtach and son Tom Walters all of Somers, a niece Robin Mitchell of El Dorado, CA, cousins in Ellington, Branford, East Haven and Guilford and longtime friends Gen St. Germain, Vinnie Discenza, Jean & Bob Kozuch, Bob & Judy Hull and beloved neighbors. His family would especially like to thank the Visiting Nurses Health Services of CT and his caregivers Lisa, Allison, Deanne, Louis and Gwen for their kind and compassionate care given to Walter.
The family will receive friends on Thursday Oct. 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service with Fr. Anthony Bruno officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Interment with military honors will then take place in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701.
