Condolence: I met Mary many years ago, in the early 90's. I was a substitute teacher at JFK and covered her classes from time to time. She was always very nice to me and appreciative of my help. Several years ago, while my husband and I were vacationing on the Cape, we took a walk down a lovely looking road in Wellfleet. I noticed a lady hunched over by her front fence tending to her flowers. As we got closer, I noticed the lady was Mary! I said hello and she recognized me right away. She happily shared her story of buying the retirement home on the Cape, her times as a youth in Wellfleet (there was a story about a train that went through there in those years), and she invited us in to meet her husband and show us the house and backyard.
Mary was a happy, welcoming and warm lady. I will always remember her smile and how happy she looked tending to her flowers at her home on the Cape.
