Dick was the second eldest of 10 children, and is survived by seven of his siblings, Robert, Ethlyn Ulkus, Don, Floyd, Ronald, Hollan, and Patty Gogulski. Dick leaves his son, Roy and Susan Hoyt of Virginia Beach, Virginia and his three daughters, Brenda and Paul Steen of Apex, North Carolina, Denise and Charles DeMur of Enfield, and Linda and Frank Russell of Ellington.
He also leaves 11 grandchildren, Hillary, Jason, Allyssa, Richard, Nicolas, Vanessa, Samantha, Joshua, Noah, Hollan, and Mackenzie. Dick was known as Great Grandpa and Big Papa to his seven great-grandchildren, Haley, Zachary, Jayde, Lillie, Nora, Jaxon, and Nolan. Dick also leaves his beloved tuxedo cat, Henry, who was his loyal companion for the last four years.
Dick was employed at Pratt & Whitney for 35 years. In his retirement he enjoyed fishing at Crystal Lake, watching the birds and squirrels in his yard, playing cards and cribbage, maintaining a pristine lawn, and eating a good steak dinner with at least two glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon.
