Simone G.  LaPointe (LaForest)
Simone G. (LaForest) LaPointe, of Enfield, passed away peacefully at the age of 98, on Monday, June 11, 2018 surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her home. She was predeceased by Philip E. LaPointe her beloved husband of 64 years. Simone was born on June 24, 1919 in Grand Falls, NB Canada, to the late Frederick and Philomene (LaJoie) LaForest. She resided in Enfield for the past 50 years. Simone was a devout parishioner of St. Adalbert Church. She loved going for long walks, reading, gardening, knitting, crocheting and was an excellent cook.
She is survived by her children; Sandra Talbot (Jean) of East Haddam, CT, Norma Shannon (John) of Feeding Hills, MA, Don LaPointe (Betty predeceased) of West Haven, CT, Bob LaPointe (Marianne predeceased) of Branford, CT, Leann Rick (Richard) of Manchester, CT, Anne Simlick (Henry predeceased), Dee Cekala, Walt LaPointe (Mary), Bernie LaPointe (Gina) all of Enfield CT, Marita Cunningham (Ed) of Somers, CT and Pam LaPointe of Suffield, CT, 23 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren, a brother, The Honorable Gerard V. LaForest and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Peter Philip LaPointe, her first husband, Aime Molmans, their son, Aime Molmans Jr., and 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Her family will receive friends on Friday, 6/15/2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 6/16/2018 with the funeral procession forming at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Adalbert Church, for a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at the convenience of her family in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Raymond of Penafort Parish 64 Pearl St.. Enfield, CT 06082.A special thanks to our sister Dee who was primary caregiver in recent years. The family would also like to extend their love and appreciation to longtime family friend, Pauline Morando, who served both as companion and caregiver.
