Obituary for David A. Wolodko

David A.   Wolodko
David Anthony Wolodko, age 66, passed away at Hartford Hospital on August 19, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Edward Wolodko of Enfield, CT and his sister, Elaine Wolodko Williams, also of Enfield, CT. He was blessed with two sons by his first wife, Marie Miano Michele. Their older son, Michael Wolodko, currently resides in the Newington, CT area. Their younger son, David Miano, lives in Chicago, IL with his life partner, Gabriella DiMento and their beautiful daughter, Luciana. David is further survived by his sister, Irene Wolodko and her husband, Gerald DiMattea and family of Enfield, CT and his brother, Joseph Wolodko and his wife, Linda, and their family of Enfield, CT. David’s life partner of more than 20 years, Stacey Spartz, also lives on without him.
David was blessed to have received a liver transplant in February of 2000 through organ donation to Hartford Transplant Associates. He would especially want to thank his transplant team including Drs. David Hull and Matt Brown as well as his coordinator, Gina. David was also grateful to APRN Junger of Starling Associates of Enfield, CT, the Wound Care Clinic team, (especially Ed), of St. Francis Hospital in Enfield, CT and the fine home nursing services provided through Trinity Health Care of Enfield, CT.
David’s hobbies included movies and reading. He also had an extensive and unique collection of hats, which became his signature style. He was an avid follower of MSNBC. He was generous, funny and genuinely interested in people’s stories and opinions. He will always be remembered for his passion for sobriety, unyielding perseverance and his sense of profound gratitude. A private celebration of his life will be held at the convenience of the family later this fall. Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels has been entrusted with his arrangements.
