Helen M. (Melnyck) Soltys, 91, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Baystate Medical Ctr., Springfield, MA. Helen was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late Thaddeus J. Soltys. She was born in Ludlow, MA, daughter of the late John and Anna (Posemko) Melnyck, and resided in Enfield for many years. A loving and devoted mother, and grandmother, Helen dedicated her life to caring for her family and home.
Helen is survived by her three loving children, Thaddeus J. Soltys, II, John Soltys, and Susan Mannette & husband Michael. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Haley and Timothy Soltys, and Allison and Olivia Mannette, her brother Michael Melnyck, and a sister Katherine “Phyliss” Kot & husband Edward. Helen was also predeceased by her siblings, Mary Storey, Charles Melnyck, Steven Melnyck, and Rose Clason.
A Funeral service in celebration of Helen’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Enfield. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Peter and Paul Ukranian Catholic Church, 45 Newbury St. Ludlow, MA 01056.
