Obituary for Timothy "Poobah" M. "Tim" Bajek

Timothy “Poobah” M. Bajek, 57, passed from his earthly journey on Saturday Dec. 1, 2018 at East Longmeadow Nursing Center. He was born on March 25, 1961 in Springfield, MA to Jane (Boudreau) Bajek of Longmeadow, MA and the late Fred P. Bajek. He was a graduate of Longmeadow H.S. Class of 1979. Tim worked for 34 plus years as a bartender at Jiggy’s in Enfield, CT and was a big part of Jiggy’s annual Enfield Toys for Joy drive, prior to that he worked at Hallmark Cards for many years. Family was very important to Tim. He was an accomplished gourmet cook and enjoyed many gourmet dinners with family and friends. In addition to his love for cooking, he enjoyed family vacations on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. These were very special times for him. He was also a Boston Red Sox and N.E. Patriots fan. Besides his mother and best friend with whom he lived, he is survived by three brothers, Mark & wife Nicole and their son Trevor, Stephen & Cindy, John & wife Beth and their children Molly and Patrick, and his dedicated furry friend Baxter. He is also survived by a special uncle, Peter Grzelak, aunts, Eleanor Kuhar, Bertha Stolarz, Claire Bajek, and Pauline Bajek, along with many cousins and friends including his special friends, Esther, Lori, John and Vinnie. Tim was predeceased by his father Fred (2014) his special aunt and second mother Sandy Grzelak (2018) and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center, Baystate Medical Center, Baystate Hospice and Lahey Hospital and Medical Center for the care that they gave to Tim. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Tim’s name may be made to the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Dept. of Transplantation, 41 Mall Road, Burlington, MA 01803.
Tim’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday Dec. 5, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield, CT. Funeral service will be held on Thursday Dec. 6, 2018 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Longmeadow MA (Please meet at church). Interment will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield, CT.
