Charles W. Metcalf, 86, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to the late Martha (Nadeau) Metcalf (4/2018).
Charles was born on January 31, 1932 in Middletown, CT, to the late Charles W. and Edna (Charlson) Metcalf. He had resided in Somers for 28 years and in Suffield for the past year. Prior to his retirement he was employed with Delta Industries and Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. In his earlier days he was a pitcher for the Twilight Baseball League, and was a lifelong N.Y. Yankees fan. Charles was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1525 Enfield and was former State President.
He is survived by his daughter Debra Gillanders & husband Gerald of Vernon, his son Charles Metcalf & Karen Goodwin of Enfield and a step-son Bruce Perlinski of Manchester, two beloved grandchildren Cheryl Pederzoli and Alissa Parady and four great-grandchildren Victoria Pederzoli, Shane Pederzoli, Ryan Pederzoli and Whitney Parady, along with many nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. His family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
