Obituary for Sandra "Sandy" Grzelak (Boudreau)

Sandra "Sandy"  Grzelak (Boudreau)
Sandra (Boudreau) Grzelak, 75, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Sandy was the daughter of the late Ernest and Hazel Boudreau. She was born on October 17, 1942 in Enfield, CT. For 55 years she was the beloved wife of Peter Grzelak, who was at her side constantly until the very end.
Sandy is survived by two children, Joseph Grzelak and his wife Alice of Somers, CT and Joshua Grzelak and his wife Tracey of Wethersfield, CT; Her sister and best friend Jane Bajek of Longmeadow, MA; four grandchildren, Alex Grzelak, Theo Grzelak, Sammy Grzelak, and Jack Grzelak; her brother-in law Richard Grzelak and his wife Diane of Crane’s Lake, FL; their children Leslie and Matthew; four nephews Mark Bajek, Timmy Bajek, Steve Bajek, and John Bajek all of Longmeadow MA; and her long-time friends Barbara Vane, Phyllis Thibodeau, and Betty and Ray McGivney.
Sandy was a long-time resident of Enfield and a communicant at Holy Family Church. She worked as a legal secretary and insurance agent at several firms in Enfield. In addition, she generously gave of her time at Brightside for Children in Springfield, MA, and the Holy Family Church CCD program and cheerleading teams.
Sandy loved cooking, vacations at the Cape, dogs, air-conditioning, being a “hockey grandma”, and giving world-class hugs. To the end she was able to share her deep love for her family and experience their love in return. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses and doctors of the ICU unit Bay State Memorial Hospital in Springfield, MA, and the staff at Suffield House in Suffield CT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at St Jeanne Jugan (Holy Family) Parish at 23 Simon Rd, Enfield, CT. Burial will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd, Enfield, CT on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Sandy’s honor may be made to the American Heart Association at 7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231.
